What is a rigid-flex board?
The rigid-flex board is a flexible circuit board(FPC) and a rigid circuit board (PCB), which are combined together according to the relevant process requirements through pressing and other processes in the PCB proofing to form a circuit board with FPC characteristics and PCB characteristics.
The production of soft and hard boards should have both FPC production equipment and PCB production equipment, and the production process is more complicated:
First, the electronic engineer (customer) draws the circuit and shape of the flexible board according to the needs, and then provides the drawing to the PCB factory;
Then, after the CAM engineer processes and plans the relevant documents, arrange the FPC and PCB production lines required for the production of the FPC production line to produce the PCB;
After the FPC and PCB prototypes come out, according to the planning requirements of the drawings, the FPC and PCB are seamlessly pressed by a pressing machine, and then a series of details are carried out, and finally a soft and hard board is made.
Rigid-flex board is difficult and there are many details, and it is generally inspected before shipment.
Rigid-flex boards can be used in products with special requirements, such as mobile phones, computers and LCD screens, motherboards and display screens, etc. It is very helpful to save the internal space of the product, reduce the volume of the finished product, and improve the performance of the product.
