The problem of short circuit during PCBA manufacturing is one of the common faults that will directly cause the failure of PCB. There are many reasons for the problem of short circuit during PCBA manufacturing. Let's analyze it one by one.

1) The biggest cause of PCBA short circuit is the improper design of the welding pad. At this time, the circular welding pad can be changed into an oval to increase the distance between points to prevent short circuit.


2) Improper design of PCBA part direction will also cause short circuit of the board and failure to work. For example, if the foot of SOIC is parallel to the tin wave, it is easy to cause a short circuit accident. At this time, the part direction can be appropriately modified to make it perpendicular to the tin wave.

3) There is another possibility that it will also cause the short circuit fault of PCBA, that is, the automatic plug-in bends. The IPC stipulates that the length of the wire leg is less than 2mm and is worried that the parts will fall off when the bending angle is too large, so it is easy to cause short circuit. It is necessary to leave the solder joint more than 2mm away from the line.


In addition to the three reasons mentioned above, there are also some reasons that can lead to the short circuit fault of PCBA board, such as too large base plate hole, too low tin furnace temperature, poor plate weldability, solder mask failure, plate surface pollution, etc. These are common fault reasons.
