The SMT factory teaches you to make a simple heat gun soldering tool to move or remove tiny surface mount components, using a standard soldering iron as the foundation, which is as effective as a hammer that kills a fly. If you want to buy an expensive heat gun workstation, it seems a little fuss, look at today's method of operation, SMT factory will build a simple heat gun welding tool for you.
Don't know what we are talking about? Well, you may have to click, anyway, this is an impressive feat and still may want you to install a special chip on a specific game console (or not).
For today's method of operation:
you need to:
Radio Shack's soldering iron
Small fish tank air pump
Six or eight feet vinyl fish tank air hose
Desoldering braid or steel wool
Tie
Modify the soldering iron
The tip work of iron requires a little bit of airflow for efficient heat dissipation. We gently clamp the tip with our vice tip. The broken tip seems to help guide the airflow, but we don't call it necessary. Let us know what is best for you.
The next trick is to add some heat exchange material to the soldering iron tip. Cut off the length of the tin-removing braid or obtain a small bundle of steel wool. The braid is copper, so it should be heated more efficiently.
Roll up the braid/wool and tuck it gently into the corner of the iron. Don't push so hard, you restrict the airflow much. The air flow of this material slows down slightly and helps radiate the heat of the iron into the air. Gently reinstall the tip, it is made of soft metal.
Iron for airflow
Because we don't have any heat-resistant tubes, we use suction balls as bulky but simple thermal insulators. Drill a 5/32 inch drill bit or something similar to the end of the bulb. The hole must have a good seal on the wheel.
Insertion tube
Cutting the end of the vinyl tube at a 45 degree angle will help a bit. Gently push the end of the wet tube and insert it into the hole you drilled in the bulb. The other end of the tube is connected to the outlet of the air pump. When cleaning things, the airhose is fixed to the iron, along with the power cord of the zipper tie. Later we changed the zipper tie on the handle with some fashionable red electrical tape.
Popular
In order to use the gun effectively, let the iron have enough warm-up time without turning on the air pump. Once it's toasted and plugged in the air pump, it will be ready to go. In order to get a feel of the working way of heat transfer, we tried our gun on several workbench materials.
Thermal casing
The tubing and we have no more primate methods to get the instantaneous contraction of burn marks.
Hot glue
If you have ever used a soldering iron to cut through some stubborn hot glue, you will love this trick.
Hot glue is great, but sometimes it's the way to get it. The heated air liquefies the hot glue without burning it.
SMT surface mount:
But for actual PCB soldering surface mount components? Our solder paste order, so we had to test its pre-installed circuit board. It easily melts the solder joints on the chip.
in conclusion
Hardware that works with SMT surface mount is a constant challenge for us. We hate to admit this, but we may actually resort to breaking certain SMD resistors to enable some of the features of our hardware. Except for the look of our new tool as a mad scientist, we can't wait for someone else's console, um, spare parts from the fish tank to be provided to the Ministry of Defense. And this, friends, there are enough reasons to go through with this method of operation. Yes, they ended up at gideontech one time ago. We will not melt the hose; no, we did not read yours first. To truly give out one of the earliest companies, we can dig out credit and look at this one from 2001. If you don't like to watch RadioShack buy things they launched their own sacrifice microwave science too.
