Flux is one of the most important components of solder paste. It determines many important physical and chemical properties of each solder paste. Most solder pastes use RMA type neutral flux, this type of flux has a certain degree of activity and non-corrosive. When welding some devices such as PLCC, SOJ or BGA, since the flux residue on the lead (or pad) of these components is extremely difficult to clean after welding, it is safer to use RMA type flux, especially in high-density assembly occasions. Be applicable. When soldering in a nitrogen atmosphere, a flux with lower activity can be used. Only when the solderability of the PCB board and component leads is poor, a strong active flux has to be selected.
