1. Offline burning

Offline programming is connected to different packaged chips through an adapter, and the program can be programmed only when the chip and the adapter are used together. The nature of the adapter is similar to a precision fixture, and different packaged chips need to be programmed with different adapter seats. If there is an error during the production test and the production retrospective re-correction is performed, the chip needs to be disassembled from the adapter and re-burned in accordance with the prescribed process, which consumes a lot of manpower and material resources, and the cost is high. There will be some unexpected situations during PCBA processing and production, such as insufficient temperature resistance of the circuit board, and the chip will be deformed when the chip is disassembled, which will invisibly increase the risk of scrap.

Online programming uses the chip's standard communication bus, such as USB, SWD, JTAG, UART, etc. The interface is generally fixed, and there are few pins that need to be connected during programming. Because the interface communication rate is not high, the programming can be completed by using ordinary wires without high consumption. Online programming is to program programming through wire connection. If an error is found during production testing, you can immediately trace back the faulty PCBA and perform the programming again without disassembling the chip. It not only saves production costs, but also increases the efficiency of programming.
