The reason why PCB can be used more and more widely is because PCB has many unique advantages, which are summarized as follows.
Can be high-density. For decades, the high density of printed board has been able to develop along with the improvement of integrated circuit integration and the advancement of mounting technology.
High reliability. Through a series of inspections, tests and aging tests, the PCB can work reliably for a long time (usually 20 years).
Designability. For PCB performance (electrical, physical, chemical, mechanical, etc.) requirements, printed board design can be achieved through design standardization, standardization, etc., with short time and high efficiency.
Manufacturability. With modern management, standardized, scaled (quantitative), automated and other production can be carried out to ensure product quality consistency.
Testability. A relatively complete test method, test standard, various test equipment and instruments have been established to detect and appraise the eligibility and service life of PCB products.
Can be assembled. PCB products are not only convenient for standardized assembly of various components, but also for automated and large-scale mass production. At the same time, PCB and various component assembly parts can be assembled to form larger parts and systems, up to the complete machine.
Maintainability. Since PCB products and various component assembly parts are designed and produced on a large scale, these parts are also standardized. Therefore, once the system fails, it can be replaced quickly, conveniently and flexibly, and the system can be quickly restored to work. Of course, there can be more examples. Such as miniaturization and weight reduction of the system, and high-speed signal transmission.
The differences between PCB Prepreg and PCB Core are as follows:
Prepreg is a sheet insulating material for PCB. Prepreg is not prepreg before being laminated, also known as prepreg material, mainly used for bonding material and insulating material of inner conductive pattern of multilayer printed board. After the Prepreg is laminated, the semi-cured epoxy resin is squeezed away, starts to flow and solidify, bonding the multilayer circuit boards together, and forming a reliable insulator.
Core is the basic material for making printed boards. Core is also called core board, with certain hardness and thickness, and double-bread copper. Therefore, the multilayer board is actually made by pressing Core and Prepreg.
The difference between the two:
1. Prepreg is a kind of material in PCB. The former is semi-solid, similar to cardboard, and the latter is hard, similar to copper;
2. Prepreg is similar to adhesive + insulator; while Core is the basic material of PCB, the two have completely different functions;
3. Prepreg can curl but Core cannot bend;
4. Prepreg is non-conductive, and the core has copper layers on both sides, which is the conductive medium of the printed board.
From the simple point of our PCB industry, prepreg prepreg is equivalent to the role of glue, using prepreg to connect several cores into a multilayer board by lamination.
