Rogers PCB material is a modern and high-performance composite material. It is made of glass fiber as the reinforcing material and aromatic polyimide resin as the basic material through multi-layer composite processing. Due to its excellent dielectric properties, high-frequency signal transmission ability, and mechanical strength, Rogers high-frequency circuit boards have gradually replaced traditional organic polymer materials and ceramic resin matrix composites.
Classification of Rogers PCB materials
Rogers high-frequency materials can be divided into 3000 series, 4000 series, 5000 series, RT6000 series, TMM series, etc.
1) RO3000 series: PTFE circuit materials based on ceramic filling, with models including RO3003, RO3006, RO3010, and RO3035 high-frequency laminates. The Rogers RO3000 series is a PTFE composite material containing special ceramic fillers, used in commercial microwave and radio frequency applications. It has multiple different dielectric constant (Dk) values and can provide consistent mechanical properties. More suitable Dk laminates can be selected in different single-layer designs, and various multi-layer board designs can be developed without any warping deformation or reliability issues. In addition, a stable dielectric coefficient can still be maintained over a wide temperature range.
2) The characteristics of the Rogers RO4000 series high-frequency materials are non-PTFE, low loss, low tolerance, excellent high-frequency performance, stable electrical properties at different frequencies, low dielectric constant temperature coefficient, low Z-axis thermal expansion coefficient, low in-plate expansion coefficient, excellent dimensional stability, and easy mass production. Can be used for satellite TV LNB, microstrip lines, cellular base station antennas and power amplifiers, spread spectrum communication systems, RFID tags, etc.
3) The Rogers RO5000 series is a PTFE composite material. It has the characteristics of low dielectric constant (Dk) and low loss, making it very suitable for high-frequency/broadband applications. Consistent electrical characteristics can be maintained over a wide frequency range, making it easy to cut, share, and process. It has good resistance to solutions and reagents used in etching or electroplating edges, as well as through holes. It is very suitable for high-humidity environments and is a very mature material.
4) RT6000 series: PTFE circuit material based on ceramic filling, designed for electronic and microwave circuits that require high dielectric constant. The models include RT6006 with a dielectric constant of 6.15 and RT6010 with a dielectric constant of 10.2.
5) TMM series: composite materials based on ceramics, hydrocarbons, and thermosetting polymers, models: TMM3, TMM4, TMM6, TMM10, TMM10i, TMM13i.
