The development of the printed circuit board industry
Printed circuit boards {Printed circuit boards}, also known as printed circuit boards, are providers of electrical connections for electronic components.
Printed circuit boards are often represented by "PCB", but cannot be called "PCB boards".
Its development has a history of more than 100 years; its design is mainly layout design; the main advantage of using circuit boards is to greatly reduce wiring and assembly errors, and improve the level of automation and production labor.
According to the number of circuit boards, it can be divided into single-sided boards, double-sided boards, four-layer boards, six-layer boards and other multilayer circuit boards.
Since the printed circuit board is not a general terminal product, the definition of the name is slightly confusing. For example, the motherboard for personal computers is called the motherboard, and cannot be directly called the circuit board. Although there are circuit boards in the motherboard, They are not the same, so when evaluating the industry, the two are related but cannot be said to be the same. Another example: because there are integrated circuit components mounted on the circuit board, the news media call it an IC board, but in fact it is not equivalent to a printed circuit board. We usually say that the printed circuit board refers to the bare board-that is, the circuit board without upper components.
The printed circuit board is a bridge that carries electronic components and connects circuits. It is widely used in communication electronics, consumer electronics, computers, automotive electronics, industrial control, medical equipment, national defense, aerospace and other fields. It is an indispensable electronic component in modern electronic information products. The development level of the printed circuit board manufacturing industry reflects the development rate and technical strength of a country or region's electronic information technology industry to a corresponding extent.
The characteristics of the printed circuit board industry are as follows:
1. Periodic characteristics
In the past, the printed circuit board industry was greatly affected by the demand for computers and consumer electronics. However, as downstream distribution becomes more and more extensive and product coverage becomes wider and wider, the PCB industry is less affected by a single industry, and the risk of industry fluctuations is reduced. The printed circuit board manufacturing industry is critically affected by the ups and downs of the macroeconomic cycle.
2. Seasonal characteristics
The production and sales of printed circuit boards are less affected by the season, and the characteristics of the manufacturing industry in low and peak seasons are not significant. However, due to the festive consumption of downstream electronic terminal products and downstream customers' advance preparation of goods in response to the peak consumption season, the production and sales scale of PCB manufacturers in the second half of the year was higher than that in the first half of the year.
3. Regional characteristics
The PCB circuit board industry generally exhibits corresponding regional characteristics. Globally, emerging markets represented by China have a great demand for various printed circuit boards. The output value of the printed circuit board industry is mainly concentrated in China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea.
