What are the commonly used materials for PCB?
As a support for electronic components, PCB has a wide range of uses and has good heat dissipation and insulation characteristics. According to the editor, there are 4 commonly used materials for PCB: FR-4, resin, glass fiber cloth and aluminum substrate.
1.FR-4
FR-4 is only a heat-resistant material grade, not a name. It refers to a material specification that the resin material must be extinguished by itself after being burned. At present, there are many types of FR-4 grade materials used in circuit boards, most of which are called 4-function (Tera-FuncTIon) epoxy resin and filler (Filler) and glass fiber composite materials.
2. Resin
An epoxy resin material commonly used in the PCB industry, thermal curing materials can produce polymer polymerization. Resin has excellent electrical insulation and can be used as an adhesive between copper foil and reinforcement (glass fiber cloth). It has electrical properties, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and water resistance.
3. Glass fiber cloth
The inorganic materials are fused at high temperature and then cooled and gathered to form a non-crystalline hard material. The warp and weft are interwoven to form a reinforcing material.
The more commonly used specifications of E-glass fiber cloth are: 106, 1080, 3313, 2116, 7628.
4. Aluminum substrate
The main component of the aluminum substrate is aluminum, which is composed of copper skin, insulating layer and aluminum sheet. The aluminum substrate has a good heat dissipation function, so it is now the most widely used in the LED lighting industry.
