Mini LED, also known as "sub-millimeter light-emitting diode", refers to an LED with a grain size of about 100 microns, which was first proposed by Jingdian. Mini LED is between traditional LED and Micro LED, in short, it is an improved version based on traditional LED backlight.
Compared with Micro LED, Mini LED has a higher yield rate than Micro LED. It has special-shaped cutting characteristics. It can also achieve a high-curved backlight form with a flexible substrate. It adopts a local dimming design and has better color rendering, which can bring LCD panels. More refined HDR partitions, and the thickness is close to OLED, which can save up to 80% of power. Therefore, it is demanded for backlight applications such as power saving, thinner, HDR, and special-shaped displays. It is suitable for mobile phones, TVs, and car panels. And gaming laptops and other products.
Compared with Micro LED, Mini LED is theoretically less technically difficult, easier to achieve mass production, and can develop a large number of LCD backlight market, and the product is more economical. According to industry estimates, if an LCD TV panel with a Mini LED backlight design is used, the price is only about 60% to 80% of an OLED TV panel, but the brightness and picture quality are similar to those of OLED, but the power saving efficiency is higher. At the same time, a 55-inch Mini LED backlight LCD panel uses 40,000 LEDs, which will positively help LED die manufacturers to reduce their production capacity.
Generally speaking, Micro LED will have a qualitative improvement in terms of picture quality. It is the next generation of revolutionary display technology, but the current technology is still not mature enough. Mini LED is an improved version of LED backlight, but it can still greatly improve the effect of the existing LCD screen, while the cost is relatively easy to control, and is also expected to become the mainstream of the market. We also hope that manufacturers can accelerate the pace of research and development and bring Micro LED and Mini LED TV products that can satisfy ordinary consumers as soon as possible.
1. OLED, wow, good thing, this is subversive, why, it can self-illuminate, and it is not white light but three primary colors, what does that mean, the backlight module is useless, liquid crystal, liquid crystal is also useless Oh, it's already a pattern. oled reacts fast, of course, it is fast, the electric control directly controls the pattern, unlike the liquid crystal which is screened out by white light. oled is energy-saving, of course, what color you want, don’t stop emitting light, unlike liquid crystals, the backlight always shines, but the liquid crystal blocks it.
2. QLED, quantum dots are a magical thing, blue light can emit light of different wavelengths, according to the appropriate ratio of red and green quantum dots, white light can be emitted, because the light excited by it is very "pure", that's right for ordinary LEDs The contrast of the light coming out is very "turbid", so in terms of color gamut, it is subversive. But this thing is difficult to deal with, even more unstable than OLED. The fastest forming one must be made into a film and placed on the backlight module. The blue light module is used to stimulate the "pure" white light. As a reminder, the normal backlight module is It is "turbid" white light, this is the legendary light to glow. The electroluminescence means that the stability of qd is better. When placed in the led, the light directly emitted is the "pure" white light excited by the quantum dots.
3.mini led,
The first one, mini led, is used as a direct type, white light backlight module. It is understood that this mini led is an led that emits white light smaller than a general led.
Second, as an upgrade of the OLED technology chain, mini led is a product on the OLED technology chain that is smaller than OLED and larger than micro led. I think these two mini LED can be completely distinguished.
