Both Bluetooth and WiFi modules are free of wired interference and bring a lot of convenience to our lives. The two are widely used in our lives, but many times we don't know whether to choose a WiFi module or a Bluetooth module.
1. application standards
Bluetooth and WIfi are both wireless communication network standards, and both can work in the ISM2.4GHz public frequency band. Bluetooth uses the FHSS method, which generally hops 1600 times per second, dividing the 83.5MHz frequency band into 79 frequency band channels, and each time only occupies a bandwidth of 1MHz. The protocol used by wifi is the 802.11 standard. Most 802.11 uses the 2.4GHz ISM band, and a few countries use the 5GHz ISM band.
2. Transmission speed
The theoretical rate of 802.11n is up to 600Mbps, but the current mainstream in the industry is 300Mbps. The theoretical peak value of Bluetooth 4.0 rate is 25Mbps, which supports ultra-short data packets at a data transmission rate of 1Mbps. Now 802.11.ac is up to 500Mbit/s. Bluetooth4.0 transmission distance can reach 50 meters, transmission range 100 meters. The transmission distance of 802.11n routers in open areas can reach 300M. In this regard, Wifi has a slight advantage over Bluetooth.

5, power consumption
For a long time, the common problem faced by Bluetooth and Wifi technology is power consumption. In the case of limited battery power, how to more effectively save power is an important criterion for users to choose. Bluetooth 4.0 uses only 3 broadcast channels, and the radio frequency turn-on time during each broadcast is also reduced from the traditional 22.5ms to 0.6~1.2ms. According to estimates, the initial power consumption of Bluetooth will increase by about 20-30mA, and the normal standby current will be restored after standby. The moment when the Bluetooth connection is established: about 70mA. Big data transmission: about 110~130mA.
